Lists

I love making lists. I made a list tonight of my worst days ever in my life. Today came in at number 4. I'll describe more of the why later on and also talk about the other really bad days. Bad days definitely help you appreciate the good ones. JM

Houses

Did I tell you that I sold my house, and that we're buying one up here? We close 03.25 in Atlanta and 03.28 in St. Charles. I cannot wait. JM

One Day

Someday I will post two exciting pieces of information here: the birth of my daughter and the sale of my house. But not today. We went and walked around the mall today hoping to help along the process of either one, but to no avail. JM

Old House

Hopefully we'll be in a new house soon. The lady that looked at our house for the second time tonight said that she would like to write a contract on it. So she's going to get her pre-approval and maybe we'll have an offer come over fairly quickly. Now we need to pray that it's for enough money. JM

Great News!

It's a great time to sell your house because home sales are at a record low and home prices have fallen 5.1% in the last year. Yet, if God wants somebody to buy my house, he'll make it happen no matter what the conditions are. JM

No Posts

I'll return to posting tomorrow. I took my laptop with me on Thanksgiving vacation, but not my charger, so it didn't do me a lot of good. We got back home a couple of hours ago. It's so good to be back in my house. I love it. JM

Paint Colors

We're trying to pick out paint colors because we want to repaint basically every room in our house. Luckily my wife and I have pretty much the same taste liking fairly muted tones. It's pretty trendy right now. The problem is finding time to paint with two little kids running around. It would be impossible to do it with them here. So we'll have to ship them out somewhere before we're able to do it. Once it's done, though, it's going to be like a brand new house again. Of course, the house is only 4 years old. JM

My House

My wife and I are really starting to like our house and get used to the idea of being in it for a while. We may move at anytime, but we would be perfectly content being here for 5 years or more. Of course, we'd like to do stuff (hardwood floors, fence, granite) but can't really afford it. If we're in it next spring, it will be extremely tempting to just start doing stuff. Hopefully by then we'll be out of debt, so we can save up a little bit to do some nice little improvements. Can't go too crazy, though, because our house is way low end and we'd never see the return on our investment. JM

House Hunting

We're planning on moving either in Spring or Summer of 2008. While that's over a year away, my wife and I love to look at houses, so today for our date day, which culminated with seeing High School Musical at the Fox (more on that later), we went out and looked at new homes. We saw some that we definitely loved.
Now I love to save money and live comfortably, but the one area where I am extremely tempted to overspend is on our house. We had been looking and loved a house that started at $260,000 (or $60,000 more than we should spend). We were talking over dessert about what it would take for us to get it and my wife said that she wouldn't want to have to worry about making the house payment.
It's awesome when she says stuff like that. I would want to move in, eat rice, and have no furniture. We would have an amazing house, but we would have to set the heater on 60 degrees. So we decided to go back to our original plan and try to get a more reasonable house that we can actually afford. I love my wife. JM
