Bookmarks

I bookmark (favorite) pages on the internet all the time. I probably have like 100 stored up. I try to move them over to this site so I have them all in one spot that's easily searchable and I don't forget about things. I haven't done it in a long time, so they're just stacked up. I'll start moving the links over in the next few days, but here's the first. It's a movie called The Boy In The Striped Pajamas. It looks fascinating to me because it shows how relationships can change mindsets and how hatred can destroy relationships.

U23D

I saw U2:3D last night. It was awesome. The way it was shot made it seem incredibly real with the camera angles and the 3D was incredible. At one point when Bono is singing directly into the camera it almost felt awkward like I was waiting for him to sing to the next person instead of focusing so directly on me. It was also amazing to see their light show and stage design with tons of LED's. Go see it. JM

U23D

I never see movies. Now there are two that I want to see. Cloverfield and this U23D thing. How could anybody not enjoy this, it's a U2 concert shot in 3D and thrown up on a massive screen. I'll have to check the IMAX schedule so I can get in there and hum along to the bassline. JM

Love Rediscovered

This seems like such a cool story to me. It's like so unbelievable that it could even happen. For 60 years this couple was separated in Russia, not knowing where the other was. Then they run into each other by chance.

When Anna Kozlov caught sight of the elderly man clambering out of a car in her home village of Borovlyanka in Siberia, she stopped dead in her tracks, convinced her eyes were playing tricks.

There, in front of her, was Boris, the man she had fallen in love with and married 60 years earlier. The last time she had seen him was three days after their wedding, when she kissed him goodbye and sent him off to rejoin his Red Army unit.

This would be a great movie. I'll take my wife to see it when it comes out. JM

Cloverfield

It's really rare that I want to see a movie, but this one looks so cool to me, especially after reading what other people think about it.

Civil War

I got to see several hours of The Civil War documentary by Ken Burns today on PBS. I am always entranced by it. It's so well done and it's such a fascinating time in history. I love the hearing about the passion with which these men fought and died, all for an idea, or two different ideas. JM

Oh My Gosh

Words cannot express my excitement. Now all that we need is someone to make a Buck Rogers movie. The guy that wrote the screenplay for the Knight Rider movie also created the series and the Buck Rogers series. No wonder both mesmerized me as a child. JM

Guys Night Out

I cannot wait for my son and I to go enjoy the cinematic epic that will be TMNT (teenage mutant ninja turtles). I'm so pumped. JM

Cinema

Watching the oscars makes me want to watch more movies. I really don't like a lot of movies, but I love some of them. I love it when a film can move me emotionally. I really felt that in "Little Miss Sunshine". I want to see "Adaptation", "Letters From Iwo Jima", "Flags Of Our Fathers", "Blood Diamond", and "The Pursuit Of Happyness".
It's just tough to watch movies with little kids in the house. In the last year I saw "Little Miss Sunshine", "We Are Marshall", "Cars", and "Happy Feet". That really may be it. Pretty sad.
(By the way, Happy Feet was pathetic compared to Cars. It only won the oscar because the academy liked it's don't judge people message better than the life is a journey message in cars.)
